As a beautiful 1800 Walter und Soehne has been newly restored and made playable, I was asked to give an all-Beethoven Recital with some early Sonatas, Op. 2/3 and the revolutionary so-called “Moonlight” Sonata, Op.27/2 in the breath-taking space of the instrument museum at Tiergarten 1, Berlin. Another beautiful and vigorous piano came to Berlin from Nuernberg, via Georg Ott, a 6 and 1/2 octave- Conrad Graf, on which I played happily the “Waldstein” Sonata Op. 53.
